Thanksgiving

Once again the festivity of the harvest season is here. The turkey has been purchased and the menu is almost completely planned. Traditionally my girls and hubby do most of the cooking for this event since their college days. Each year brings its own special moments. This year we are fortunate to have summer like weather to make it even more special. Sunshine tends to brighten people's spirits more giving a golden twist to the bounty that we are blessed with.
And as we give thanks we must be sure to share whatever we can because there are so many who are in need.  Definitely.
Thanks for being patient with me my blogging friends. I know I have not been around much for three weeks. Much is happening as I race to get my daughter ready for her wedding at the end of this month. You are not forgotten. I shall catch up with reading and commenting as soon as I possibly am able because I cherish your ideas and friendship. You are a part of what I'm thankful for.

  1. I like the feeling Thanksgiving gives us. It seems to be a more friendly season, not like all the rush at Christmas. Like your flower arrangement. Thank you for taking the time to come by.

  3. I don't mind when people take time off to live their lives, and I always appreciate it when you visit me. I recently discovered that this is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada, so Happy Thanksgiving!

  4. Beautiful sentiments. Good luck with the planning and the event. Happy Thanksgiving. You are one who made it to my list to be thankful for. I have enjoyed your life stories, and your growth with technology. You are a positive role model that learning is a lifelong endeavor.

  6. Thanksgiving is over, I hope you had a happy one.

I know how stressful family weddings can be, but do take it easy. You want to enjoy the day, not lie flat on your back with exhaustion.

  7. I hope you and your family had a Happy Thanksgiving. How nice to have a tradition such as your husband and girls do the meal preparation. I do appreciate you stopping by to leave lovely comments even as you are so very busy with the upcoming wedding!

  8. Thanksgiving is one of my favorites. Don't have to worry about gift buying, giving or receiving. Just a large meal with family and friends.

I can understand how busy you must be getting ready for a wedding. I don't have a wedding I'm helping with, but it seems I have been busy.

Had an echo cardiogram on Wed. waiting for the results. They have me on Coumadin to thin the blood, since it's not beating right and they don't want blood to pool in the heart and perhaps cause a clot. Always something it seems. Have a wonderful week-end.

  9. You may have noticed I've also been scarce of late. My reasons are far less exciting (stressful?) than yours, of course, with the wedding planning and all that it entails (thankfully, as I'm not sure I could cope with such a big event like that, right now!)...my life is busy because of our six dogs. We suddenly acquired 3 rescue puppies, since April of this year. We've already had three (at that time the most we've owned at one go!). Adjusting to three more has been quite a process, since nowadays it seems there's always something to be done.

Your Thanksgiving preparations sound great and, even better to me, since you don't have to handle all that cooking on your own!

  10. I meant to say...we already HAD three dogs.

Also, I have realised that you've already HAD your Thanksgiving weekend/dinner (Canada's being earlier than that in the USA...I had to look both up on Google). Anyway, I hope it was a wonderfully happy occasion for you all...next time, you'll be celebrating with a married daughter and son-in-law at the table :)
